Oakland University opened in 1959 to admit students. It is a public university located in Rochester, Michigan. Today, more than 18,000 students attend classes at OU each fall. The university offers programs that lead to degrees at the baccalaureate, masters and doctoral levels, besides programs in continuing education. Study programs are conducted in fields like Arts, Business, Nursing, Engineering, Education and Health Sciences. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of NCA. The 6 residence halls of Oakland cater to the student's accommodation needs.
