This program is for Students sufficiently prepared in mathematics and English who enter the program in the Fall semester can expect to complete the program in two years. The third year is known as the "glide year". This is the year between completing the program and entering medical school. For most students, the glide year provides the opportunity to take additional courses or to deepen their exposure to medicine through full-time employment in a clinical setting or in a medical research laboratory.

Applicants must score at least a 25 on the ACT or 1700 on the SAT, and possess a minimum high school grade point average of 3.2 on the 4.0 scale. Admission is guaranteed for students in the program who maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 through their pre-pharmacy studies and a minimum grade of "C" in all required courses at IIT.

Students should complete the Application form for admission. There is no application fee. Students should submit official or certified copies of the marks or grades of courses completed prior to university or college entrance. These copies must be submitted in the native language version and in English, where applicable. Scores of SAT or ACT are required. Scores should be sent directly from the testing center. The SAT code for IIT is 1318. The ACT code for IIT is 1040. The SAT II scores are not required. Provide an official copy of the TOEFL or IELTS score report. The code to send the scores to IIT is 1318. Submit a completed evaluation form and a letter of recommendation by the counselor or one of the math, science, or English instructors (an additional letter of recommendation is optional). This letter should include information about achievements and any other important information that will illustrate potential. Students can use the Common Application Teacher/Counselor Evaluation Form. Submit IIT's Financial Affidavit of Support to demonstrate that the sponsor have available finances (minimum US$40,063) to meet the educational and living expenses. Living on campus will provide with many new freedoms and personal choices. IIT residence halls include a variety of room types. Most rooms in State Street Village feature suites where two student rooms share a connecting bathroom; whereas, most rooms in McCormick Student Village is double occupancy with a common area bathroom. These large, coed halls are located on the east side of campus. State Street Village is the newest residence hall at IIT. SSV consists of three, five-story buildings facing State Street and backing up to the Chicago Transit Authority's Green Line elevated train. The buildings will contain 367 beds in two suite style buildings (two students per bedroom) and one apartment-style building (one student per bedroom). McCormick Student Village is comprised of six interconnected residence halls. The high-rise apartments provide approximately 320 unfurnished apartments for faculty, staff and graduate students. A variety of apartments types are available, including studio, one, two or three bedroom units. The apartments are rented on a 12-month basis and are located on the north side of campus.
