This program design is 28 consecutive months of didactic instruction, clinical rotations, and research. During the first four terms students complete coursework in Basic Medical Sciences, Behavioral and Social Sciences, Health Policy, Clinical Preparatory Science, and Research Methods. During the clinical year (Terms 5-7) students complete rotations in medicine, surgery, and medical and surgical specialties. A concurrent Master's project is conducted with ongoing PA faculty advisement.

Applicants must have a Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution with grades of "C" or better: The following courses should have been completed. General Chemistry I and II with Labs 8 semester hours Biochemistry, Organic, or other advanced chemistry (3 semester hours),General Biology I and II with Labs (8 semester hours),Anatomy and Physiology I and II or equivalent (8 semester hours),Microbiology with Lab (4 semester hours),Statistics (3 semester hours),General or other Sociology (3 semester hours),Psychology (3 semester hours),English Composition or other writing intensive course (3 semester hours),One Chemistry and one Biological Science within five years .The y should also have a completion of the GRE . And 1000 hours of responsible health care experience.

Applicants must complete and sign the Supplemental Application and return it directly to the Program with a non refundable fee of $50 payable to Albany Medical College. This should be done as early in the process as possible. It is not necessary to have completed the CASPA application or the GRE application prior to submitting the Supplemental Application. All applicants must visit www.caspaonline.org and complete the primary application process according to their directions. CASPA applications must be completed by October 1st to allow reporting to AMC by the November 1st program deadline. (Accepted applicants will also be required to submit official transcripts to the AMC registrar upon enrollment.). All applicants are required to complete the GRE. Scores must be reported to Albany Medical College and the institution code is 2947. No minimum score is required as the scores will be evaluated in the context of the applicant's entire record .Scores of TOEFL are also required.
