This program helps to deepen students knowledge of educational development and psychological research with this PhD in Educational Psychology specialization that can be tailored to meet your professional needs and research interests. Through their choice of electives, students can focus their study in such areas as instructional design science, teaching science, or developmental science, or choose a broader field of study. People who choose this specialization often plan to pursue careers as professors, educational psychologists, researchers, program administrators, or consultants.

International applicants must have attended an internationally recognized institution. All applicants are expected to read, speak, write, and understand the English language fluently. Those whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB), or International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The only exception to this requirement is reserved for learners who have earned a post-secondary degree from a U.S.-accredited university. The minimum acceptable TOEFL score established by the university for admission into all programs is 550 for the paperbased test, 213 for the computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or a score of 79 for those completing the Internet-based examination. The minimum acceptable MELAB score established by the university for admission into all programs is 80, and the minimum acceptable score for the IELTS is 6.5.

Applicants must complete the admission application and submit an official transcript for the highest degree conferred, as well as any post-degree course work. An evaluation of work history and achievements as demonstrated by a resume, statement of purpose and—when required by the program—letters of recommendation, and/or other relevant material may also be considered for applicants who do not meet minimum admission standards.
